The Coach Road has grown gates! These lead to an area at the back of what boys' changing room, science room above that, and A Dorm above that (at least in my time 1944-52.)

Now the building is called Pendle House, pictured below.

Pendle House - where the boys' changing room, science rooms above and A Dorm' above that used to be

Pendle House - part of the new School residential site - now almost completed.

Rawdon House - September 2001

This photo was taken in September 2001 and added to show the completed development of Rawdon House and the Mill Buildings.

By a bit of luck all the cars that are usually parked here were out.

Head's House - almost ready to move back in!

What was the Headmaster's House for most of Ayton School history, and offices / studies for the rest, is now a number of very nice apartments with windows looking out onto the Green at the front and into the playground at the back. Wonder if there will be many children playing here in the years to come?

The old kitchen on the ground floor - middle floor where matron's flat, the surgery and bathrooms were and B Dorm' on the top floor are all nearing completion as separate and very attractive apartments.

By the time old scholars arrive back in Ayton for the Summer Reunion it will all be finished and not a builder or decorator in sight.

This is page seven - if you would like to see the interior of one of the flats now almost finished in Richardson Hall go to page eight and now at the top of the Headmaster's House on page nine
