| This photo is of the staff taking tea on the Terrace (you can just see the Teachers Bridge in the background) is from the same period as above and many of the individuals there are as captioned. The photo file was e-mailed by Fred Wyatt in Canada who found it in his family archives. He is a direct descendant of the Crake family - there were five of them, four boys and one girl who were at Ayton collectively between 1902-09. |

By
the time this photograph was taken in 1915 Frank Rivers Arundel
had retired and Herbert Dennis appointed as Headmaster. He is
seen middle right with Muriel, his wife and daughter of Ralph
Dixon, on his right.
Also in the picture - centre back row -
Leonard Stapleton, James Lancelot Baker, Sophia Wells, and
Mrs. Wright, Housekeeper. |

1924
and lots of new faces - second row LHS - George Cons, who was
later an AOSA President; centre left
- Herbert Dobbing, and 2nd from the right - Bernard Coates.
On the front row Sophia Wells sits to the right of Herbert Dennis,
with Muriel Dennis on his left - who appears to be enjoying some
1920s fashion. Leonard Stapleton has been joined by Marjorie,
presumably his wife.
Note how the staff numbers are rising.
