Boys in the Swimming Pool - 1904

Boys in the Swimming Pool - 1904. They really are enjoying themselves!

Boys in the Swimming Pool 1904

Boys in the Swimming Pool again 1904 - this photo - although very similar to the one above - shows the construction of the changing and sheltered area, which was not demolished until 1945 or 46.

F. Rivers Arundel - Headmaster - can just be seen in the panama hat.

J. Spence Hodgsons - a well-known personality of the time, who seemed to visit School on an annual basis -  and nine best boy swimmers after a performance before the girls 1905.

The Swimming Pool 1955The Swimming Pool 1955
The Pool seen here - and in photos below -  as most will remember it, was built in about 1946.

Many OS, who experienced both old and new, probably preferred the old as it was less drafty and - if you weren't swimming - provide shelter against the elements.

Swimming lessons 1955

Swimming lessons and diving practice 1955.
Who would the master be? Anyone know? E-mail if you know.

House competition 1955

House competition 1955 or 56. If you were a spectator, rather than a competitor - or active swimmer - this is the view you might have been more used to.
