A mistress's room at School 1954!

A School mistress’s room in the Nutshell - photograph date is 1954.

This may have been quite acceptable in the 1950s but one wonders what modern-day staff would have to say about such Spartan surroundings?

This activity was organised by  Rod Grosvenor but can anyone say who the boys in the photo are?

This photograph - captioned B.C.C. handing out mail - is not dated but that is hardly relevant. Bernard Coates used to hand out parcels and letters to many generations of OS. 

He was one of the few who could prevent a stampede at the mail distribution ceremony.
