Alan Maughan and R. Falkous - 1909

Alan & Betty Maughan pictured on their wedding day

Alan Maughan and R. Falkous - 1909

Alan Maughan once more pictured on the day of his wedding to Betty. At the time - 1921-22 - Alan was AOSA Hon. Sec; both were later to be AOSA Presidents.

Robert Jackson and his wife - 1909

Mr. & Mrs. Emmerson

Robert Jackson and his wife - photographed in 1909. Robert (Cobbler) Jackson crops up regularly in Becksides and Magazines from the time and was obviously quite a character.

Mr. & Mrs. Emmerson - this photo appears firmly in the Archive Photo album so who ever put it there know of this couple's part played in School life.

Barber JacksonThis is Barber Jackson.

Gill Jackson e-mails: The Jacksons - I quote from a letter received from Margaret Cumbor on the subject last year, which she found in the Centenary History.

"Cobbler Jackson (above left) coming with his sack on Monday mornings to collect boots for repair. Sometimes his son Oliver took his place. The other son, Jack or 'Barber' came regularly to cut the boys' hair." The family lived in a small cottage near to All Saints' Church, from where they plied their trades.

For further detail on 'cobbler' Jackson, please see news from Colin McLaurin
Jones on (printed) page 29 of the 2001 Annual Report - (News page 1 on the website) -, it makes wonderful reading.
