Gill Jackson e-mails: The Jacksons - I quote from a letter
received from
Margaret Cumbor on the subject last year, which she found
in the Centenary
History.
"Cobbler Jackson
(above left) coming
with his sack on Monday mornings to collect boots
for repair. Sometimes his son Oliver took his place. The other
son, Jack or
'Barber' came regularly to cut the boys' hair." The family
lived in a
small cottage near to All Saints' Church, from where they
plied their
trades.
