 Superintendent of Ayton School & family in 1906: Alice Kate Arundel; Hugh; Florence Ruth; Philip Walter; Frank Rivers Arundel; and Edith Mary Tutty – Governess.

This photograph was the subject used on the 1999 Magazine cover and shows the Arundel family together with Ernest and Mona Legge, children of Florence Legge - School Nurse  at the time and AOSA President 1920-21- boating on the Beck above High Dam during the Summer of 1905

Mrs. Wright - Housekeeper during the time F. R. Arundel was Superintendent.

Sir John Storey 1911

Mrs. Wright - Housekeeper 1910 - during the time F. Rivers Arundel was Superintendent. What a lovely photograph!

Sir John Storey 1911 was an old scholar from 1851-54. This photo of him appeared in the 24th Annual Report in 1911-12 to acknowledge his Baronetcy conferred in the New Year's Honours list.

Ethel Lingford - scholar 1898-1900


This young lady is Ethel Lingford who was a scholar at Ayton School from 1898-1900.

The envelope containing the photo mentioned a letter with her reminiscences; if this surfaces it will be added as a linked page.

This photo was found in the Archive collection and identifies Philip Carr as a music pupil at Ayton, although there is no trace of him in the Records.

He is photographed as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Leicestershire Fusiliers but the photo is undated.
