An aerial photograph of the School - scanned from a postcard - taken
during, or shortly after the end of the War.
The Lake can be seen in
between all the tree reaching from bottom left. There is a cricket
match underway and just above the bottom left hand
corner the fuzzy image is the old cricket pavilion which rotted away and
was demolished about 1946. This used to be a favourite spot for
kite flying over Roseberry when the wind was favourable.
Jumping to 1954 - the boys' playground with Cook's in the
background.
This is one of the few photographs taken just before the 1950s
Teaching Block appeared. Note the tulip tree on the left.
Draining and clearing the Lake - the
photograph - right - does not give a date but if anyone would like
to e-mail
with a bit more detail (and photos if they exist) more will be
added to this page.
