Whit Monday celebrations - 1900

The three following photographs are all taken on Whit Monday 1900. 

Here we see crowds gathering on Bottom Field for Whit Monday Sports.

This action shot - very advanced for 1900 - shows a high jump competition in progress. 

Note the dress of the day - If Whit Monday had been warm many would have felt a bit over-heated.
