The 1938 new Teaching block nearing completion in 1937

The photo here shows the 1938 Teaching Block under construction in 1937. Joe Tillott provided this photo courtesy of his Ayton contemporary, Alan Noble.

This is the only photo we can find of the 1938 Block. If anyone has another please let Dick Dennis know.

This 1954 photo shows the 1958 Block just before the new 50s block appeared.

One of the two trees middle left was a tulip tree and much admired. Would it have been felled today?

New Teaching block well under way in 1955 - VI formers revising on the terrace grass?

Look tranquil doesn't it? Must be a weekend and a bit of revision under way - was it only VI formers were permitted access to the Teachers Terrace?

Summer 1955 – the then ‘new’ block under construction –  Gill  Jackson (Hinds) took and provided this photo.
